Feeling how you felt, only makes you human

"Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice."

The people in your life are supposed to make it all easier
If they're making it difficult, you know you must question the relationship!

It's always going to be about how one has been conditioned through life
It's why we see some people as really graceful beings, respectful not just towards elders, but just by nature while speaking to anyone, it's in the way they speak and their tone
and then of course there are those who think they're perfectionists and everyone should just live serving to fulfil their wishes and demands

"It's a little strange to actually get an award for being nice and generous and kind, which is what we're all supposed to do with one another. That's the point of being a human."
- Ellen DeGeneres

Upbringing
The impact of that on a human being is just so undervalued!
A child you're raising and pampering today is going to be someone's husband/wife tomorrow, someone's father/mother

Situational behaviour
It really depends on whether you make it a big deal or not
and that will depend on the kind of people/thoughts you surround yourself with
So if you make it a big deal, it will definitely be a task/challenge for you, because you've already convinced yourself that it's not going to be manageable
So don't make everything a big deal... Let it be!
You'll be able to deal with it all as it comes, if you believe that you can, and that you'll take it as it comes

It's surprising how the generation right before mine is more messed up in their thoughts and attitude towards life, than mine!
Thinking you're always right is death to the brain God has given you to wonder, stay curious and exercise your imaginative abilities

Some things, you should never tell anyone
Not even your best friend
Especially when you're aware that you and the other person have drastically different views on a particular subject
It's one thing to have identified the disagreement, acknowledge it and come to terms with it
It's another to share more views on the same
You'll only hurt yourself in the process

Bring up your child with love and chores.
Anyone who has an MBA but hasn't been brought up with a habit of doing chores, will not be able to mould.
(in discussion with a very wise friend, when we talked about parenting, after she'd heard these views on a ted talk)

Passengers, the movie
How her mind works and he feels that something written by her is what he can relate to so much, it's as if it was written just for him
Without knowing/meeting this person ever, but having spent months thinking about how this person could be as a partner in life
She writes, but had never written about herself
Arthur, the robot who doesn't have a heart obviously, only follows instructions, can't feel, but his character is portrayed in a manner that it can be deceiving even for a human, with regard to trust

"When you have been trying to fix a problem for too long
Let go of what you can't control for sometime
Live a little" - a robot saying that to a human

It's so strange how we humans work
We want to live in a world dominated by technology
But look for nature when that's the case

"Anyone can find the dirt in someone. Be the one who finds the gold."

Life isn't always about proving a point
To your partner
To your parent
To the world
To another person

I'm not sure still, after all these years, if humans pay for their karma or not, considering we see rapists in our country walking free, let alone those who get a high after hurting another person's feelings

Sometimes...
There's only so much you can do
You explain a viewpoint
You observe a certain aspect a number of times in many ways
But if the person you're trying to show your perspective to, through your eyes, refuses to see what you see
You're only making attempts in vain
Not only because this person will never get it, but because even if this person eventually does get what you see now, it'll be too late

When you trust people without the fear that your trust might be broken by them, you will be surprisingly happier in life!

When you have tried your best to explain something to someone
Or you shared your thoughts
But the other person just doesn't get it because he/she is only going to be looking at it from his/her level of perception

"The quality of your thinking determines the quality of your life."

When you feel everything too deeply
Not only are you the only one getting hurt
You're the only one feeling how you're feeling
People don't think about how you feel unless they know that feeling

Everything in life doesn't have to be compared
Everyone's struggles are different
Just because one's trouble doesn't seem as much to you because you've faced a lot more in life already, doesn't make their troubles small/petty
You don't know how one deals with it all really
We all deal with stuff in our own ways

The lesser number of friends, the better they say?
You're more at peace and in sync with knowing who'll be there for you no matter what
and that you don't need to be in touch or show affection in anyway sometimes
It's all just understood between the two people

Selfishness
We dwell in it as a species
No matter what the degree of it is
We act as per our convenience, we speak in sync with our benefit
Even if it is a little thing like making a call, we don't usually keep the other person's situation/convenience in mind, in personal life
That's when we're taking things for granted, bit by bit

"And many prefer not to exercise their imaginations at all. They choose to remain comfortably within the bounds of their own experience, never troubling to wonder how it would feel to have been born other than they are..."
~ some of my favourite words from the Harvard commencement speech given by J.K. Rowling

We always only think from our level of perception, no matter what the situation
It's amazing that the people you consider empathetic and observant in your life, are the ones who don't see what you see
and then you realise that only time will give certain answers to them
because time does give answers, especially to those who choose to stay silent

Instead of accepting each other's flaws, differences, nature, way of thinking... one is always trying to show the other person how he/she is wrong in his/her thought process and this is what he/she could do to become better or more flexible
How does one's nature and way of perceiving have anything to do with being rigid anyway?
Okay, maybe a little.

People showing they care, in front of others, time and again, are the kinds who have major insecurities in life
I mean, you don't have to show it in front of anyone or prove it to anyone
If you care, it's understood, just by the person you are and the vibe you give out rather than the words you speak amongst a group of people on purpose, to show that you do
I absolutely detest it when people do it for the world or in front of other naive humans, demonstrating the same by being unusually explicit about it, as if it needs validation every time

When you don't expect too much from a situation or from the people in your life, you'll be less disappointed in life in general, for sure

It sucks when you care too much. You realise that the other person is better with those, who don't care even half as much as you. It's true!

You expect your best friend to understand your viewpoint or be in sync with your thought, when you share how you feel about a particular situation or what you sensed, but when he/she isn't on the same page as you, and is confident or perhaps has chosen to not feel how you feel
You really can't do anything except for time and situations to make your friend see what you see
I may have been repetitive about this point, in this post, but I cannot seem to emphasise on it enough.

You think everyone means what they say because you mean everything you say, and that's where you've gone completely wrong.

The definition of being modern is still so messed up in our society. People think angrezi and clothes do it. Soch ko theek nahi karna lekin.

When your day is made from conversations with two wonderful and genuine souls
A call from an old, and favourite teacher, after years
and a well-wisher who strongly believes that you and her have a connection from the past life
The feeling is indescribable! :)

"You think it's normal to feel everything so deeply, so you expect the same from other people. Well, don't; because it's not normal. It's not normal at all. It's rare. It's precious. It's actually amazing how the things which don't even brush their hearts, somehow manage to burn a hole in yours."

Why so insensitive?

So,
Old Bollywood songs playing on the radio actually are capable of getting the weariness off somehow :)

The worst part about being strong is that people choose to not ask if you're hurt.

"You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with."
~ Choose wisely!

Just because you know you can afford to take it out on some people, doesn't mean you do it every damn time you have to. There's a threshold of the mind, for that person, hearing you say it all in anger, too.

"You can't win a fight against someone's perception."

We are known for insensitivity, the human species

Words you read here and there, in another country/city, on a bus ride, or wherever else walking, and can only relate to one thing ~
Lawnmower
(A scene from the movie, Easy A
"I borrowed my neighbour's mower. I came right over."
Joey's Pizza
(Duh. Joey. Friends. Enough said.)
New Montgomery
(A Cinderella Story. Mrs. Montogomery. The evil stepmother.)
Coventry Motor Inn
(Duh again. The tiny city I lived in, once upon a time)

So many things that go unnoticed
and because humans don't prefer to think
No one ends up bothering

Casa Sanchez
~ a restaurant in L.A. which has the most awesome cheesecake ever!
It honestly reminded me of the scene from Friends when Chandler and Rachel hog on a whole cheesecake together!

Maturity
does not
have anything
to do with
Age
or
Time.
It comes with
experience,
exposure,
and willingness to think beyond the obvious.
Bas.

Uncertainty has its consequences
That feeling of not knowing, assuming some parts, leaving some to destiny, and knowing some
Somewhere along that process of reaching the finish line, there are consequences of your choices and decisions made, some that go unnoticed all together, and some that are visible clearly even later

"I can't adult today
Please don't make me adult"
*please picture a lazy pug lying around, while reading those two lines above*

When the temperature of your room is just about perfect for the dairy milk silk bar to be at its best

Ides of March
How that always brings back "Et tu Brute" in my head

Some songs will always brink back that one time in your life/one person/one situation/a group of people
No matter what you do, that memory ain't going anywhere

Rape. Rape. Rape.
What's beyond sad is that the world is getting used to hearing about it so often, that one is starting to overlook the seriousness of the damn cause.
"Rapists rape people, not outfits."
"Imagine if men were as disgusted with rape as they are with periods."

Patience
Nope, you just want the other person to have enough
Not yourself
#Irony

"It can be tough for a woman in the construction industry. I'm in charge of hiring the subcontractors - electricians, carpenters, roofers, plumbers. Those jobs are overwhelmingly male, so a lot of them don't like taking orders from a woman. They'll say 'yes' when I tell them to do something, but then they'll slack off when I'm not watching. So I've got to stay on point. I have to demonstrate that I know enough about all of their jobs to know when something isn't being done correctly."
- Words taken from another post of Humans of New York, because I can relate to this too much!

I miss being younger.
Life's become too serious. Reality, big decisions.
Makes me want escapism more.
I want the time when the matron used to say it's time to get up, and when we knew it's prep time, and when it's sports time, and then we're supposed to finish our freaking breakfast in 15 minutes.
I miss that precision.

Ah, humans. Perpetually forming conclusions after hearing one side of every story. Lack of perceptiveness. Insensitivity. Zero courage to point fingers at yourself. The hatred for the species only grows.

"A word of encouragement after failure is worth more than an hour of praise after success."

No, you can't do whatever you feel like. Because being yourself a one hundred percent is not what's acceptable to people who don't matter in your life. Yes, you read that just right.
So much for irony, eh?

"We're so busy watching out for what's just ahead of us
that we don't take time to enjoy where we are."
- Calvin and Hobbes

The words ~
right, wrong, happiness, satisfaction
~ are all too subjective to be narrowed down to one single definition
Everyone has their own and they're all different to some degree!

It's not hard to say sorry
It takes just a moment of realization to be apologetic
But ofcourse if you're okay with your ego taking over, I have no words for you
Sucks how people value their ego more than their relationship with an individual

Like I'd mentioned in the last post, about Alan Powell's inspiring words in that interview
One really needs to hear that for reassurance and be themselves instead of being told they're over-thinking or some crap of that sort!

Your lack of faith in me is disturbing.

Phases

"If your eyes could speak, what would they say?"
#TheBookThief

Why is there always a catch?
Why can't it be simple?
Simple enough for you to not look beyond the obvious reasons
The hidden answers that exist which make reality what it really is

When you had the best intentions
But it didn't work out anyway
When you just thought that everything is in place and it'll be fine
But it wasn't eventually
So you tell yourself once again that things are supposed to get better and so they will

When you've managed to restore the faith that it's all supposed to be for the best
And then when your faith is shaken, oh no, it becomes harder to join the pieces
As some fell too far away for you to find, identify and fix

Fear
Anger
Denial
Acceptance
The phases that one goes through
No one ends up feeling completely safe by the end of it
How one's innocence is poisoned and cultured with ridiculous expectation

To be able to work on something that's been a part of who you are, in order to make it better, you need to identify what it is first
The willingness to do something about it comes after that.
And obviously if one ends up staying oblivious to it for the rest of one's life
It would just be like noticing the trees from the window, and never being able to look at the glass

When you do something for someone who means something to you
You did it because you knew it was the right thing to do
It's not in that person's knowledge and he/she can never dig that deep to figure it all out by him/her self
And you wait for the right time to let the person know that you did it because you knew it would make him/her happy, and without your absence in that person's life, it wouldn't have been possible

The things one does, by hurting someone, but for their good, keeping the long term perspective in mind

Keeping a cigarette in your mouth and never lighting it
~ The metaphor that makes one think as to how you've put something in your mouth that can kill you, but you haven't given it the power to kill you
I wonder how many situations that can be applied to in life
#FaultInOurStars

It sucks that people don't make a conscious effort to look beyond the obvious

It's only hilarious when a person has not only taken you for granted but has crossed all limits
You become that person who gets to hear all the shit because you've been there taking it all in, up till now
Like seriously
The mistakes we commit for the gazillionth time
When people don't realize the promises they made

The irony that exists in life and how the universe plays funny

"Sometimes people don't understand the promises they're making when they make them."

When you've cut yourself off before
It's easier the next time you do it
Of course, the simple logic ~ it hurts less when you've become used to cutting off from the world, in one respect or another
Because the first time you did it, only you know what kinda courage it may have taken
Especially when you kinda thought you're not the kind of a person who could survive with a smile, post that
But it became so much better with time, that sometimes, it seems like the best thing to do
Not just to clear your head or whatever, but sure as hell, for reasons you know you'd manage to recollect

Fault In Our Stars

"A world full of only easy choices would enslave us to reasons."

When your efforts won't mean anything and you know it
because the imaginary wall between you and another individual is colossal and it would take a lot more than just breaking it down somehow

"When all else fails, call Dad."

People will always judge you. Don't let their judgments get in the way of your perspective.
They'll be judging anyway.

It may be wrong to say that your education doesn't define you. But it sure as hell is not the only thing that defines you.

It's not about what you do, it's about who you are.

"I've come to the conclusion that if having things turn out the way you wanted them to is a measure of a successful life, then some would say I'm a failure. The important thing is to not be bitter over life's disappointments. Learn to let go of the past. And recognize that every day won't be sunny, and when you find yourself lost in the darkness and despair, remember it's only in the black of night you see the stars. And those stars will lead you back home. So don't be afraid to make mistakes, to stumble and fall, cause most of the time, the greatest rewards come from doing the things that scare you the most. Maybe you'll get everything you wish for. Maybe you'll get more than you ever could have imagined. Who knows where life will take you. The road is long and in the end, the journey is the destination."

The trouble with reality is, it troubles.

When you end up spending hours on a thought that crossed your mind once
You know it for yourself that assumptions are the worst things ever, but no, you refuse to think rationally at that one point when that stupid thought has managed to take over all the others pondering in your head
You know it that it's as tiny as it can get, and it would probably be forgotten by the other person within a few minutes from the point of time of its occurrence, but because you have the stupid habit of letting things get to you, you try to take your mind off it.. But, oops. Ofourse you don't succeed
It's funny how the human brain functions, really.

I've had some conversations with a good number of people where they're contradicting themselves in the very next statement but they don't get it
I mean, first of all, how do you not even seem to realise that?

When you see a baby pigeon really, really hurt on his/her (I'm guessing her) head, alone and scared, and manage to put some boroline (the only ointment that popped in my head) on his/her head somehow...

Long overdue but still not it

Life can be worse than you'd imagined it to be.
Or not :)
It all revolves around the time you take to get over things/your own thoughts. And ofcourse the time taken to let go of what crosses your mind more often than expected.

Sometimes you say the right things at the wrong time.
Does that even make any sense?

Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince.
Albus Dumbledore :)

We live in a place where honking is the mantra when you're driving a vehicle on the road.
Where education loan rates are actually higher than car loan rates.
Where pizza does end up reaching your doorstep faster than an ambulance!
Where the food rates are subsidized in the parliament to an extent that doesn't leave you in a position to compare it all with the price a common man pays, with the increasing variety in the types of taxes being levied!
But what's important, is to admit that 'we' are a part of all of this. Talking about it doesn't do anyone any good. But spreading the message, maybe close to nothing again. Acceptance is what's required. To be able to convert that acceptance into working on it in some form.

Delhi. The culture. The Shoshabaazi. It really is going to take some time for me to get used to it all and be willing to see the nice side of it. Seriously.

Who is to say?

Unfailing faith.
Compassion.
Courage to take it all with a smile on your face when you know you're going to die.

Time flies when it's expected the least to :)

At the same time,
Not caring makes it all so much more easier. I'm not saying that's what should be done. But I'm certainly saying it hurts lesser. Like the human switch could be turned off or something.
But then again, the power who's made this world and controls it, has kept all of this in mind to maintain the balance and let emotion and suffering and love be a part of one's life and help one form his/her own beliefs.
"Without suffering, there'd be no compassion."

At the end of it, it's all very individualistic. We tend to give the authority to someone else to be able to decide our sadness/happiness without even realizing we did so, until we're hurt/ecstatic.
I remember mentioning this or something close to this, earlier as well.

Just cutting off from the world and maybe going to the extreme for once and see what that's like even when you know it's darker.

Expectation when you don't follow/deliver what you expect the other to?!
Seriously?

A weekend narrated on a weekday?

There are people who just put on a good show, you know.
And they either think they've managed to make the world believe and buy their crap or
they've managed to atleast convince themselves thoroughly. But who knows how much of that is true.
I have no idea what they wanna prove to the world or what they think they'll get by doing so. Or they probably don't want anything in return, not that they don't expect but they're in denial.
I believe, to be able to accept what you feel and how you feel is something that takes courage and one should never give up. Because, "It's so hard to admit" sometimes.

Saying it out loud to someone is another thing all together. I think if you can get yourself together after what almost broke you, you're stronger than you could ever be. Something/someone you didn't expect passes your life path and leaves you with assumptions, judgments, conclusions in your head and at the end of it, there are things you really can't do anything about, yourself. So believing that there is a power up there, I guess we should just do our bit.

Don't you think it takes so much effort to prove to the world everything that you do, where instead you could just live and go on with things that come along without thinking of whatsoever? We make things complicated for ourselves at the end of the day and are looking for someone to shift the blame to.

Love. The feeling that leaves you out of words when you've been one, to be able express yourself best at any point of time.
Distractions are important at some point.
Be it whatever.

When there are things you genuinely look forward to, after painting a vague picture in your head about it all.

Out of a title again?

When you know you're gonna die.
When you know you're gonna be killed for something you're gonna do.
But you do it. Not for yourself, but for the others you care for, so their lives don't end up as miserable as yours did.
They can live in peace, breathe in peace, and don't have to do that basic thing, literally with somebody else's permission around.

Bol. Another movie with a message well conveyed.
But the only sad part being that it'll remain a movie with a message amongst a class of society of which a major part is not applicable for. It will never reach that part where the message is really meant to reach. Although, with positive thinking, one amongst the hundred in a theater might make the message reach where it's required.

Heart Vacancy by The Wanted - pleasant :)

Too much food is not good on a Sunday.

"Love is a smoke made with the fume of sighs."

Sunday - the day of the week which is suppose to be for not doing anything. Not projects!
And that too, handwritten!

Some songs that make you believe that you will smile while crying :)
But sometimes, it isn't so.

Poetry :)

Made of Honour - I love!

Chalking out the whole plan for the rest of your life - not so good.
Not being too planned - good?

"They do not love that do not show their love." - Shakespeare.
True or untrue?

A week day narrated on a weekend?

It is an ugly fact that we can't be ourselves all the time. At some point, someday, we'll be hurt because of what we'll be told about ourselves which ends up ruining other people's moods. It might be a habit, an incident that made you react like that, a reaction of yours to someone else's behaviour.

It's not good when people know too much about you, because then, it's not hard for them to guess what's bothering you, at most point of times!

The concept of deaf and dumb children being taught how to sing the National Anthem left me speechless with my heart pumping extra blood into my body with immense satisfaction.
And a reminder for the world in the end which said,
"Desh Bhakti ki koi bhasha nahi hoti"
Saw that video on the theater screen, when I'd gone to see Shaitan.

Shaitan - realistic!

When you're in a taxi all alone and, it's raining and you're stuck in traffic, even though, for a very little while, and there's silence and, all you can hear is the rain and vehicles honking, you can hear yourself breathing and your heart sort of starts to beat slowly?

India : a country of minorities?

Anjuman-I-Islam School, a Muslim school I visited the other day with a friend of mine for some work.
..So many formalities for all the people currently applying for junior college in any college of Mumbai. The School is one of the centers for the formalities and procedure to apply for admissions.
A man who had been standing there since a really, really long time, had come for the second time for his son's admission formalities, all the way from Afghanistan! We wondered why though.

"Friends" : the tv show - IS a stress buster! :)

Some people can really get you to hate them and that's a good thing if it works because that's what you need, sometimes.

The songs : 'Where Them Girls At' and 'Bhaag D.K. Bose, Aandhi Aayi' are peppy! :D
And, 'See You Soon' by Coldplay ... :)

Sometimes, you make a choice and you get onto a particular path, and it might be something as petty as choosing the means of transport to get home, that is, by train, or cab...
You can be thinking about the time factor, the money factor, the marine-drive-view-that-you'll-miss factor and any other factor that could possibly cross your mind!
But yeah, sometimes, you shouldn't over think so much, just like the way I did, by writing all of that up there.
You should just go with the flow, and do what your mind says at that particular point of time, because it's good not to reason out sometimes and not do what you should and instead what you'd do otherwise.
It's like not choosing what it should be but what it is.
And someone might get to relating this to something like, not being with who you should be but with who you are. And, the chain of thought goes on.

And,
"There are no facts, only interpretations."
"Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."
"Try to learn something about everything and everything about something."
"The power of accurate observation is frequently called cynicism by those who don't have it."
"An inconvenience is only an adventure wrongly considered, an adventure is an inconvenience rightly considered."

Everybody should have a Bucket List :D

Thoughts. Just thoughts, of people and maybe, me.

A verse from the poem, 'To You' by Walt Whitman,

"You have not known what you are, you have slumber'd upon yourself all your life
Your eyelids have been the same as closed most of the time
What you have done returns already in mockeries

The mockeries are not you
Underneath them, and within them, I see you lurk."

I like it. A lot.
And the movie, 'Leaves of Grass'
:)

I saw a boy riding a bicycle the other day. It was raining. He was riding it with one hand and he held an umbrella in the other, and had an unusual confidence on his face, with earphones in his ears as well!
It was a good sight, one of those rare ones, which get a smile on your face for no particular reason, but you feel positive energy being transferred to you in an eccentric manner.

And,
"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

And I wonder if I've mentioned a few of my favourite lines here earlier.
"Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear. The brave may not live forever but the cautious do not live at all. Travelling the road between who you think you are and who you can be. The key is to allow yourself to make the journey."

I believe we are solely responsible for our happiness or sadness. It is we, who called for it, it is we who attract it to ourselves and it is we who have given the authority to someone else to decide 'our' happiness or sadness. Yes, it isn't a permanent situation but a state of mind. But it starts with us and comes back to us.

"And the air was full of Thoughts and Things to Say. But at times like these only the Small Things are ever said. The Big Things lurk unsaid inside."
~ The God of Small Things

Love.. Not?

When you start to cheat on someone, or you already have been, there comes a point when one must get themselves to question, as to why things are, as they are, today. Reasoning out is very important. Getting to the introspection mode and realizing, is important, sometimes. Things need to be rubbed onto our face, as a reminder sometimes, even though we know it all, somewhere deep down inside us.
What was the reason you fell in love with that person in the very first place? You've 'lost' that love is all you tell yourself. But really?

A lot of us fall in love, more than just once. And your love for the guy you first fell for, would never die, until you die. That is, if you believe and know, it was true and that you'd never had stronger feelings before. Your love for the guy you're yet to meet, would only be stronger :)
When you step/fall in it again, when it's time and when things are in place in your life, probably then, it would only be as good or only better than the first.

The book of life is made by our actions but some things are pre-decided. And, considering no one knows the next page of this book, we should really try and live through it all. I mean, what if God has something really nice in store for me/you in the future?

And, some very interesting quotes in my opinion, by 'bclocale' on twitter,

- There is a great need for sarcasm font.
- The world is full of willing people; some willing to work, the rest willing to let them.
- Is a fly without wings called a walk?
- Buy land. They've stopped making it.
- If you believe everything you read, you better not read.
- Opinions are like feet. Everybody's got a couple, and they usually stink.
- People never grow up, they just learn how to act in public.
- If love is blind then how can there be love at first sight?
- Wouldn't it be a good idea to make the sticky stuff on envelopes taste like chocolate?
- Why are lawyers not sworn to tell the truth like all the witnesses in a jury trial?
- If God created everything, who created God?
- There are two theories to arguing with women. Neither one works.
- I can resist everything except temptation.
- Want to relieve some stress? Make up a language and ask people for directions.

'Falling in Love' and 'Addicted to Love' are names of two movies.
Weird much?

And, I guess, at the end of it all, you don't get to choose love, it chooses you.

Hinglish!

On the 13th of April, I went to a chemist shop with my mom which was right opposite the Doc's clinic.
And, looking at it from a distance, both of us could see a small boy.
A boy who looked a little weak, had a stern look on his face, and was small to the extent that more than half of his body, was hidden by the table infront of him.
My mom's confused expressions did tell me that she wondered if the boy was gonna be giving the medicines to us. I had some sorta confidence in the boy and I told mom, woh ladka hai na.

When we reached the counter, the boy looked at us and didn't utter a word.
We asked, medicines aap denge na? The boy nodded, simply.
We gave him the prescriptions.  He took them with a lot of confidence and very quickly, he grabbed all the medicines. As he started to write the bill, manually, I asked him, naam kya hai aapka? He said, Tarun.
I said, kaun si class mein ho? He said, 8th. I said, padh ne ke saath saath yahan kaam bhi karte ho? He said, haan.

Mujhe mann mein ek ajeeb si khushi bhi hui aur pata nahi kyun, par bura bhi laga.
He started to calculate the total by adding up the prices in the calculator. By the time, he was just about done calculating, the senior guy (probably the owner of the hop) arrived. He asked him, ho gaya beta total?

The confidence on Tarun's face left me smiling until I walked to the car.

I just wrote a very normal incident up there that has probably taken place in most of our lives. But it just feels good to have a record of something like that, even though, I have most of it in my head anyway.

It isn't what people said, it's also what they thought instantly to what you said. What they finally did end up saying out loud, as a response to what you had to say, is another story all together.
A lot of times, we don't know, either because we probably never asked, or we never bothered to know, what could have been the thing that, that person was about to say initially, instead of what he/she actually did end up saying, in the end. And, in my opnion, that does matter.
Usse us insaan ke chain of thought ke baare mein bohot kuch samajh ne ko milta hai.

A lot of people who want/need a change, don't/won't.
And the ones who shouldn't because all of us, really are, unique in our own special ways, change faster than time passes.

People alive today, need to really, really start looking from the other person's point of view!
Atleast before they pass a conclusion about a story, in which, they're aware of only one side of it!

Momentous anger and saying things, which would be taken to heart by the other person, even before the speaker ends up realizing what they really said!!

Three other awesome songs by Akcent, apart from, That's My Name,
Stay With Me
My Passion
Love Stoned

And, Glass Pear :
No reason to love
Loveable
Streets Of Love

Bohot sahi gaane hain! :D

Sakaraatmak soch : Positive thinking!
A compulsory lecture for five hours, under the CS orientation programme. Seriously!
*phew* I come home and there is no elctricity and the inverter got burnt! Aur, mujhe gussa nahi aaya! :O
Haha :D

A quote by Quotealicious on twitter :
"And just when I think I might finally be over him... He starts talking to me."

'Te Amo' : Weirdly nice song.
A song from a hindi movie, Dum Maro Dum. Not the Rihanna version :P Actually, Rihanna's version is pretty decent too.

No Reservations : I like the movie. A lot :)

Baghban - Ek aisi movie jise dekh ne ke baad, aakhon se aasoon aa hee jaate hain.

Lekin ek baat sach hai, jisse ham mein se kaafi waakif nahi hain, ki,
Zindagi ki jo kitaab hai, uska har panna alag hai, aur har panne ko likhne mein hamara bohot bada yogdaan hai.
There are a lot of people out there who believe in what pandits have to say about their future and they start to  perform their life's deeds as per what they're told. That is the absolute wrong thing to do!
Koi hamein yeh nahi batayega ki hamein apni zindagi kaise jeeni hai.

Umeed har insaan karta hai. Kuch apne aap se aur bohot zyada, doosron se. Mere ek acche dost, aur mera yeh maan na hai, ki umeed karna hee, apne aap mein ek guna hai.

Bohot baar ham apni taraf se effort karte hain, ek relationship ko kaayam rakhne ke liye.
Bohot baar hamein yeh bhi lagta hai, ki woh effort sirf ham kar rahe hain, and that's when it hurts.
When you expected someone to go out of their way to do something for you, and they remotely didn't, that's when it hurts.
Jab aap ne ek insaan ke liye apne parents se ladai ki, and coming to think of it, aap aisi kisi cheez ke liye, shayad apne aap ke liye bhi argue na karte, lekin aapne apne is dost ke liye ki, and the friend doesn't give a shit, that's when it hurts.
When you've been told by a stranger who believes, he/she has the ability to see someone's future and you're told that you wouldn't make it very high in life, that's when it hurts.
When you know your heart isn't with you, and you really did give it away to somebody, but you never got it back, and you lack the ability to give a damn if someone else has the same to tell you, because your heart isn't with you still, that's when it hurts.
We can never, ever repay our parents for all that they do for us, and so, at every point we get angry, we should really make the effort and must not lack the ability to look from the other person's point of view.
Its a different story when we're not convinced but coming to think of it, we do lot of things in life, even when we're not 'really' convinced.
Communication gap is another mistake committed by most of us.

All the above typed in the above paragraph, in two languages, hindi and english, has been stated in general. There isn't a hidden story behind the points. I was reminded of a few points after seeing the movie and I felt like typing it down, out here, so here I am.

I was appreciated lately, for the posts written by me here, and it felt good. Really good :)
Thank you.

P.S. - You really can't hum while holding your nose. Try it!

Dhobi Ghat

"Dhobi Ghat (mumbai diaries)"
Mumbai. The sea : apart from being calm and serene, it takes in everything one says to it without a word and doesn't say anything at all.

A movie which can get one wracking their brains a bit about the whole realization as to what 'coincidences' mean in life and maybe how they shouldn't be ignored. Colours are as deep as an author's thoughts. One bleeds to the paper and the other takes it all out in unspoken words. Personally, a movie which has been able to make me wanna look at one point from different angles, is worth a watch.

Apart from the basic fact that we come to know about the inter-linkage between different sections of the society, the movie revolves around Mumbai and how one realises that it's probably the only city where so many classes so closely merge into a common thread of different emotions. The abstractness in the movie is something I liked. The painting speaking so much more than one's expectation out of it.

A quote said by one of the characters of the book I'm reading comes to my mind,
"On the surface, an intelligible lie; underneath, the unintelligible truth."

The silent moods of people around me can really kill me, sometimes! Just the way mine almost kill them. *confused* Urmm, also, mood swings are contagious in nature man! Remember that?

When people want to talk, as in they are in the mood, they will. Anything they say, and you have to take it because they expect you to? Really?
What the ____ (usage of the word, as per your choice!) happens when you want to say something and they are not in a mood? Like seriously! At that point of time, instead of probably saying whatever is on my mind, out loud in anger, I'll probably abuse the person in my mind and not say a word.

Also, just another sight,
A boy sitting in the corner of the street cutting nails on a cardboard shows what? That he's hygienic or he thinks about the world, that nobody should get hurt with the pointy nails or he is superstitious about not throwing them around? Now that really isn't something to think or worry about, and I probably wasted a few minutes of my life giving a thought to something like that, which is not going to make any change around me, in the opinion of the reader reading this.. But I guess I just did. Didn't question myself as to why I did.

Oh and yes, as I mentioned earlier about making a bucket list.. Now, honestly, that can get interesting! :D
Will come back to that one!

P.S. - It's the 26th January today. Happy Republic Day.

Nothingness can get you thinking sometimes?

I do not know what its like to keep in touch with someone you thought you could spend the rest of your life with.  I do not know whether its okay to be able to keep in touch with that person or not. Whether its easy or not and whether it doesn't hurt as much as it could have. I am obviously not talking about myself here. But yes, I am trying to relate to it. Love. God, who made that four letter word? There are different spellings and short forms of that word today. Luv, Lv, Lub and blah! I don't know about the world, but yes, it is pretty difficult to figure how much that word is really meant today when used! My fingers are kinda frozen right now because I just washed my hands with cold water. But dude. It is freaking cold man! The whole of Madhya Pradesh? *sigh. It's cold.

I found out a new full form for the word 'Fine' today : Freaked out Insecure Neurotic Emotional. Kinda true though! And yes, to quote another something, "I trust everyone. It's the devil inside them I don't trust."
Yes, you got that right. I saw 'The Italian Job' today. And, needless to say, the movie is :)

Got to know about another someone who is doing great in her life. Chhavi Rajawat. Yes, that's inspiring.
*sigh. Every time I get to know of something like this or hear about someone, the only word that comes to my mind is, life. Everyone has their own opinion about it and their own point of views, about what is it actually all about and what it comes down to in the end. I still haven't got quite the major part of that one into my head.

How are you suppose to go about things sometimes when you're confused what to do? You ask your good friend and follow what he/she would do if he/she were in your position, knowing that, that person is poles apart from you? Or you follow your inner conscience and do what you have always done, knowing it has gone wrong a couple of times? Looks have been, are and, can be deceptive. And, you never really know, you know.

The songs being played on my playlist repetitively : 'I could really use a wish right now' by B.o.b. Airplanes/Eminem. And, 'The Time (the dirty bit)' by Black Eyed Peas. I didn't write 'obsession' because it isn't really one.

It is my real brother's 23rd birthday today. Happy Birthday to him! I love him :)

I'm bad with titles? :/

Trust. When it comes to realising whether you were right or not, you are only yourself to blame. It was you who told yourself to believe and that the person you are talking to and probably pouring your heart out for whatever reason, is really listening to you. When I mean 'really listening' I mean, not just hearing. *sigh*

Men. They are all the same. No judgments but that's a point of view after all that I've seen. And, there are no exceptions to the rule. This was not suppose to be what I thought I'd be writing about. But then again, when do things actually come out the way you'd pictured them in your head. That's the imagination part. But, we tend to make assumptions. Ki yeh toh hoga, aur aise hee hoga. You never know.

I realised it had been about two months and I hadn't had chips. Like chips, and I got the urge to have 'banana chips' out of all though. That isn't weird. Is it? :/ Okay, maybe. Listening to good songs with good lyrics can really help and even though we all have our tensions of career and making an identity of ourselves, encouragement is all you need sometimes. Most of the people I know, tend to underestimate themselves a lot of times, and that is the time one needs to be reminded that it's all good. Life has been given to live, so might as well live it happily and see and learn from people around you and take the positives from them instead of focusing on the negatives. Be happy, learn to be. Do things you never thought you would.

Eat healthy. I don't but one must. Observe things and see how much there is taking place around you and what would it be like if it were not like that. Thinking way too much is never good but opening your mind for thoughts and ideas to flow in, is important for your imaginative side to evolve.

Never underestimate anybody, Never, as I believe is too strong a word to use for anything. But, I mean it here. If there is somebody you care about, let the person know. This is not some philosophy lecture but, half nahi, most of times, we don't express ourselves 'well'.

A sight of a cobbler solving crossword in a newspaper is a good sight. :)

Talking about movies, I saw 'A Walk To Remember' for about the twelfth time a day back. And, being honest here, the marginal utility did not decrease. Since, I'm more of a chick flicks movie person, my favourite movie for about seven years had been 'A Cinderella Story' and it changed to 'A Walk To Remember' when I saw it three and a half times consecutively in four days about a year back. There are people who say, how can you watch a movie that depressing over and over again? But it's funny, somehow, I watch it when I'm low or I am really happy and not in a mood to share my happiness in words maybe.

The one line from the movie which is my favourite is, "Please don't pretend like you know me."

The songs, 'Way back into love' from the movie Music & Lyrics, 'Light up the sky' by Yellowcard, 'Rhythm of love' by Plain White T's, are the ones that come to my mind right now.

All that I write is always a mixture. When somebody asks me, 'What kind of music do you like?' I never really have a precise answer to that. My choice of songs is a mixture again. I have never been able to categorize it as rock, hip hop, metal, classic rock or whatever else there is, as an option.

Car drives are nice. A long drive with a friend or a family member driving, music and looking outside the window with a lot of thoughts, flashing through your mind. I've always liked train journeys when somebody would leave me with my peace of mind next to one of the windows for hours and not question me. I like to look outside and be full of thoughts for a moment and be blank the other.

..Will end with the last few lines of the song, 'Way back into love'..

"And if I open my heart to you
I'm hoping you'll show me what to do
And if you help me to start again
You know that I'll be there for you in the end."

A corner of my mind

A song, which is played during the new Vodafone delight advertisements, is nice. A very soothing tune and simple lyrics. 'The little things you do for me and nobody makes me feel good; The little things you do for me,
making me smile and no one else could; That's why I like to sit next to you and listen to your mad stories..' :)

I taught my maid how to write a sentence, it felt good. But, then again, not everyone accepts that with a smiling face you see. I mean, at first she was happy that she finally knows how to write her own name I guess. But then, she didn't really want to finish the work that I'd given her, which was, two pages of one line which said 'Mera naam Meenuti Mandal hai.' in hindi, with a 'poorna-viraam' in the end.

Taare Zameen Par, the movie, was coming on tv yesterday, and I remember seeing it with my family in the theatre on my birthday the year it got released. I was studying in a boarding school that time and all four of us cried while seeing the movie as we could relate to what it feels like, going away from home.
Even though, I might have seen that movie, I don't know how many times, but yesterday, I cried while watching a movie after long.

Titanic - I most certainly will never get sick of it. Not like I've seen it a lot of times though, I wonder why my friend asked me yesterday, 'Aren't you sick of it?' And, I said, 'No, and I will never be.'

Urmm, Zac Efron is *hot*. :O
Hehe, I generally don't talk like that. But yeah, that's a very rare side of me.

..I wonder how hard it can be, to trust people.
Also, the idea of a pen pal is good. A person you've never seen or spoken to. You can say things you feel you can't/don't want to, to any other person, maybe even a close friend of yours, for that matter.

People who do the right things always and make the most appropriate choice always also like to go crazy sometimes and make the wrong decision knowing it is wrong, you know. Like the girl in Freaks and Geeks and High School Musical.
A friend of mine, a very intelligent person, did the same thing when he got an opportunity, like something big.
I guess it's fine to let them go crazy sometimes. It's only funny when it comes to reacting to situations like these, you know..when you are friends with people like that, who are doing great in their life undoubtedly, and they will do really well later as well. But, they're kinda sick of choosing the right path 'always'. I mean, seriously, I don't know why, but, I feel like reacting by saying, 'Oh, come on!' Haha.

Hmm, thinking about how efficiently a painter can express him/her self in the form of colours.. I feel, so can a writer. And here, I don't mean by using incomprehensible words or rather words which are not understood by the mob or not used in day to day life. But, instead, the way of presenting the whole chain of thought, you know. And, the conciseness and brevity of it.

It feels nice to see a cobbler sitting on the street doing crossword. :)
Yes, I'm talking about Mumbai here. I came across a sight like that, one of the days, when they were one of those few good days.

"I'd never given much thought to how I would die, but dying in the place of someone I love, seems like a good way to go." The lines from Twilight. I really like them. And, they have crossed my mind a couple of times.

"I don’t remember you looking any better
Then again I don’t remember,
don't remember you.." - really like! John Mayer has sung that song alluringly.

The title of this post. I've thought of making it the name of my blog. Hmm, I guess, I'll change it soon.
Of course, the present one was taken from the movie, 'Wake up sid'. I don't deny that, at all. But, it's only because, I could relate to the character of Konkana Sen Sharma in that movie, somehow.

Another quote, "You’re going to come across people in your life who will say all the right words at all the right times. But in the end, it’s always their actions you should judge them by. Its actions, not words, that matter." ~ The Rescue.

Human beings and validation

"Every word has consequences. Every silence, too." The more you do for someone, the more they’ll expect the next time. Don...
