Amusement central!

"If you don't believe in even the possibility of magic, you'll never find it."
#Castle

When you save a friend's ass and she didn't even have to say why, because you figured
That's the moment when you both laugh hard..and she gets back to what it was that she got caught for
Haha. I hadn't smiled like that since a while. That feeling of just knowing, and sharing an understanding like that with someone, that yes, I have your back and I always will. It's just really reassuring. And reassurance is just what you need sometimes these days.

"It's one thing to make a picture of what a person looks like, it's another thing to make a portrait of who they are."

Sometimes, you have to choose between what you can do and what you should do!
#SuchIsLife #Unpredictability #HumanBehaviour

When you see one losing the respect that he/she anyway never really had.. you see it happening. The other person's face tells you all of it. I'm not sure what to feel, sorry or indifferent. But it doesn't work like that. The defined choices that we keep in our heads in order to see things in black and white, doesn't work well, at least for those who have the ability to look beyond the obvious.

Hypocrisy at its best
#MentalityOfTheHumansAroundUs

The times when you're left with, 'I don't even know what to say'
When you're so damn hurt, that you prefer to not even talk about it this time
You realize you'd have to be fake for once in your life
You'd have to pretend to be someone you're not, in order for less bombardment of bizzare and nonsensical questions in your face

Sometimes, the people in your life make you question things you never thought you'd question

Whatever happened to entitlement to freedom of expression?

And for the love of God, you're not supposed to jump to conclusions by agreeing/disagreeing with every person's opinion that's shared with you. I mean, grow up?
No human is expected to agree with everybody's opinion. But respecting it is what's important.

"You will always be too much of something for someone: too big, too loud, too soft, too edgy. If you round out your edges, you lose your edge. Apologize for mistakes. Apologize for unintentionally hurting someone - profusely. But don't apologize for being who you are."
~ Have people forgotten this?
People need to be reminded of this from time to time!

When a person who's expressive all the time, but chooses to stay silent once in a while.. There is a reason behind it. You genuinely don't want to hurt the other person's sentiment and therefore, you talk when you're calmer.

I don't remember the last time I experienced so many emotions all in one day
It'll always be amusing how the human mind works and a mystery how it doesn't work at all in some gray areas
Not too sure whether I should say 'gray' really
#ThatDayWasANewLow

The point when you couldn't help but think what you'd do to make someone feel comfortable in an awkward situation where he/she doesn't know anybody in the group he/she has to stand amongst..
This is mainly because of your habit of making a conscious effort to go beyond just the obvious perspective of the other person
But, oops! Not everyone thinks like that, and not everyone wants to make that effort.
(Yes, we must try and look at the world like it's a beautiful place even when we see cruelty in different forms around us all the time.)

There's so much that's happened lately that I'm not sure where to start from, still

Why can't people learn to respect each other's opinions in general, instead of actually making the other person feel bad about their thoughts and how one processes their own?

It's so important to forget all your troubles for a little while. To stay in that bubble where everything seems okay, only until it's not.
It's important to watch your mother smile to old Hindi Bollywood music and understand the depth of momentary happiness.

"Life is a big fat gigantic stinking mess, that's the beauty of it, too."

Seriously, when will empathy go viral?
No one gives a shit about perspective
They're just absolutely okay with shoving their heads with what is told to them or for that matter, what has been known all along
Ugh, how much that pisses me off
Oblivion is one thing, and choosing to just go on about whatever it is that you've known so far, is another
You just don't have the freaking ability to make yourself want to know better
Man, learning is endless
Why on earth are so many people delusional that they've learned enough?
It makes me sad.

"So I guess we are who we are for a lot of reasons. And maybe we'll never know most of them."

And somehow, I still sense that being yourself isn't good enough. And you're not very welcomed.
Man, it's bloody sad that people don't encourage each other to be themselves.

'If I Stay'
The movie
The background music
Jamie Blackley's accent
The passion in two characters portrayed towards music
The hope
The promises made and kept
These are the kind of movies that take you into a bubble for a bit, and it's all different when you're in it.

What it says!

I think one's threshold of pain rises rather significantly when you undergo a situation you wish you hadn't dealt with all by yourself.

Why are we humans so insensitive man?
We don't give a tiny shit about the people around us. Forget making conscious efforts every now and then to actually help out a person even emotionally and be god damn perceptive about it!

Some people are the worst story tellers.
The worst part is when they're the only ones who make sure that their opinion is heard, you can't help but pull your hair apart in grief that the whole story has not just been poorly narrated to a bunch of people, but is full of baseless words.

What's the point of making the effort when you will be discouraged again? So much power in one person's hands deciding the future #Sucks

I sat in the shuttle and the first song that played was, Let Her Go
I mean, what timing!
The feeling of listening to a song you like/love, will always be different when you hear it in a moving vehicle.
#Warwick #OnCampusShuttleBus #OneLastTime #UK

So, the guaranteed way of hating a topic you genuinely liked to begin with: write 10,000 words on it. No kidding. And it sucks and is really unfair that there's so much power in one person's hands deciding the future. In short, your degree here pretty much depends on your luck of who your supervisor is. And that's it.

One can be so delusional looking at a really old picture saved in your phone, thinking, the relationship between the people in the photograph and the bond that existed at a point of time, is all still the same because that's how it's supposed to be.
But man, are we gullible or what?
I mean, I wonder how could I ever be that stupid to actually believe that things are the same and so are the closest people to you.

Happiness is a manner of travelling

You've gotta love what words can do

When you get long replies from someone you're really, really fond of, and have so much respect for in your heart
Oh, that can make your day and leave the biggest smile on your face, along with urging you to write here!

When someone has more faith in you than you have in yourself
That can keep you going, forever...

When you read a post by a stranger and it says,
"Very often Bombay rickshaw walas just restore my faith in humanity"
You think to yourself how true that is!

Ever come across something you can't fix?
Like you just can't.

When you can almost sense the happiness on the person's face you're on a call with, and you managed to make him/her happy with a tiny surprise that you got couriered for him/her!
The way that, that can race your heart and make you smile, with the thought of how the effort was all worth it, is incomparable!

The good thing about a picture is that you were happy in it even if you aren't now. So that state of mind almost crawls back in for a second.

At some point, you get so strong for the person you've been there for
That somewhere along that road, you started to actually become emotionally detached
So you never let anyone/anything hurt you, in order to avoid feeling the pain that it could cause by being compassionate
And because you kinda got good at keeping at it, all by yourself, you forgot the need to feel that pain that demanded to be felt
That's when a close one reminds you that it's okay to let your guard down for a while, and be hurt
Because the world can take it and because he/she can take it.

I guess I'll always be a sucker for happy endings...
#BleedingLove

Sometimes it's not about whether it should be done or not
It's not about whether it's the right thing to do or not
It's about acknowledging the other person's sentiment behind it
He/she is happy for your choice and decision anyway
But if there is something sour in that person's expressions
It's only because there is a hidden sentiment behind it
Something he/she expects you to understand and pay attention to
That acknowledgement is enough to assure him/her, so that the respect this person does have somewhere in his/her heart for you, never varies

When you'd questioned someone sometime back:
In conversation with a three year old,
Me: "Who is your best friend?"
She: "My best friends are my mom and dad."
That moved me beyond words that I could possibly find to write here
And I considered myself lucky that day, to get a chance to talk to that little girl.

'A cake will bake faster if it's put outside instead of the oven dude!'

When in a conversation with a friend,
Me: "Can you chuck this please?"
She: "You chuck it, I won't..
I don't like to let go of things"
Me: "DUDE!"

Shabdon mein...

In life, you have to be strong for those who can't be
It's important to be there for them
They have their ways of doing things for you
Things you may never even get to know of, sometimes

Don't boost your ego by being with someone and hurting that person's feelings
Don't.

You have to stop beating yourself up sometimes
It's not wholly your fault
And as you go along, you'll realize that the combination of chance and circumstance had a role to play too

There is no gray

Sometimes your faith will waver
That's alright
And normal
But don't let it go away
You're always too young to think it's not going to be okay
Everyone is dealing with a lot more than what's visible

Being the best version of yourself matters
Because the world around you would be a whole lot different without you
All the people you encountered, the lives you made a difference in, and that piece of those respective people that changed, it all got carried forward to a larger chunk of the world
The people whose lives changed because of you
It matters.

...you're different, you write your own story
you choose your own path
but you can't choose who you love
but you choose whether or not you open your heart to love
At some point, you're too stubborn and scared to admit that you're in love again, because the last time you really gave your heart to someone, it got broken.
I get that.
But somewhere along the line,
you gave up on the idea that you deserve to feel this way again
but you don't see what the person in love with you may see
you deserve this...

Not a corner of my mind

"Much as some of us fight it, our parents have a mystical hold over us,
the power to affect our thoughts and emotions the way only they can.
It's a bond that changes over time, but doesn't diminish,
even if they're half a world away, or in another world entirely.
It's a power we never fully understand.
We're left only to wonder that when our time comes,
what kind of hold will we have on our children?"

Why is the world such a bad place?
Where people always surprise you, with their actions and words
And they don't live up to their promises
They hurt you

"People always leave."
#OneTreeHill

The difference that you see in a person when the friendship is not the same
It's as good as a stranger saying hello
What's the point of such minimal friendship really?
I mean, come on, this is one relationship that's either really strong or doesn't exist at all
How on earth can there ever be a concept of little friendship with fakeness?
Man, who are people trying to fool? Because the world doesn't give a crap.

When you walk away from something for a reason you can't change in life,
you gotta know and decide what you'll do with this life with the altered choice now

When you've been hurt too many times, you become an ass
And dare anyone blame you for it.

It sucks to be doing things for people and being there for them, and getting their shit back in return

How can one be so selfish?
Doesn't that take courage too?
How does one gather that amount man?
Or does it just come naturally when one doesn't give a thought to others' perceptions as such?

Selflessness - synonym - parents.

"People change, feelings change. It doesn't mean that the love once shared wasn't true or real.
It simply means that sometimes when people grow, they grow apart."

When you know you won't be surprised with your sadness, it's better
At least you won't be hurt unknowingly in that case

Those times when you wish you didn't exist but you have one reason to hold on
And you owe your life to this person to stay

It's a good thing when your memory sucks in terms of recalling incidents,
coz that way you don't remember the bad ones as well

"There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves at a crossroads; afraid, confused, without a roadmap. The choices we make in those moments can define the rest of our days. Of course, when faced with the unknown, most of us prefer to turn around and go back. But once in a while people push on to something better. Something found just beyond the pain of going at it alone, and just beyond the bravery and courage it takes to let someone in, or to give someone a second chance. Something beyond the quiet persistence of a dream. Because it's only when you're tested, that you truly discover who you are. And it's only when you're tested, that you discover who you can be. The person you want to be does exist. Somewhere on the other side of hard work and faith and belief... and beyond the heartache and fear of what lies ahead."

Phases

"If your eyes could speak, what would they say?"
#TheBookThief

Why is there always a catch?
Why can't it be simple?
Simple enough for you to not look beyond the obvious reasons
The hidden answers that exist which make reality what it really is

When you had the best intentions
But it didn't work out anyway
When you just thought that everything is in place and it'll be fine
But it wasn't eventually
So you tell yourself once again that things are supposed to get better and so they will

When you've managed to restore the faith that it's all supposed to be for the best
And then when your faith is shaken, oh no, it becomes harder to join the pieces
As some fell too far away for you to find, identify and fix

Fear
Anger
Denial
Acceptance
The phases that one goes through
No one ends up feeling completely safe by the end of it
How one's innocence is poisoned and cultured with ridiculous expectation

To be able to work on something that's been a part of who you are, in order to make it better, you need to identify what it is first
The willingness to do something about it comes after that.
And obviously if one ends up staying oblivious to it for the rest of one's life
It would just be like noticing the trees from the window, and never being able to look at the glass

When you do something for someone who means something to you
You did it because you knew it was the right thing to do
It's not in that person's knowledge and he/she can never dig that deep to figure it all out by him/her self
And you wait for the right time to let the person know that you did it because you knew it would make him/her happy, and without your absence in that person's life, it wouldn't have been possible

The things one does, by hurting someone, but for their good, keeping the long term perspective in mind

Keeping a cigarette in your mouth and never lighting it
~ The metaphor that makes one think as to how you've put something in your mouth that can kill you, but you haven't given it the power to kill you

It sucks that people don't make a conscious effort to look beyond the obvious

It's only hilarious when a person has not only taken you for granted but has crossed all limits

Like seriously
The mistakes we commit for the gazillionth time
When people don't realize the promises they made

The irony that exists in life and how the universe plays funny

"Sometimes people don't understand the promises they're making when they make them."

When you've cut yourself off before
It's easier the next time you do it
Of course, the simple logic ~ it hurts less when you've become used to cutting off from the world, in one respect or another
Because the first time you did it, only you know what kinda courage it may have taken
Especially when you kinda thought you're not the kind of a person who could survive with a smile, post that
But it became so much better with time, that sometimes, it seems like the best thing to do
Not just to clear your head or whatever, but sure as hell, for reasons you know you'd manage to recollect

"I've come to the conclusion that if having things turn out the way you wanted them to is a measure of a successful life, then some would say I'm a failure. The important thing is to not be bitter over life's disappointments. Learn to let go of the past. And recognize that every day won't be sunny, and when you find yourself lost in the darkness and despair, remember it's only in the black of night you see the stars. And those stars will lead you back home. So don't be afraid to make mistakes, to stumble and fall, cause most of the time, the greatest rewards come from doing the things that scare you the most. Maybe you'll get everything you wish for. Maybe you'll get more than you ever could have imagined. Who knows where life will take you. The road is long and in the end, the journey is the destination."

Long, long overdue!

"It's a strange world where the least important thing is doing well and the most important thing is just hanging on."
#OneTreeHill

It sucks to be in that handicapped feeling
When you can't do more than you already have
Knowing that the amount you've done is not even close to enough
And it won't matter in the long run
But you only wish and hope and pray that it does anyway

When so many lives are attached to one and interrelated in some way or another
But the role causing the pain is not known to the actor performing
Oblivious as the actor is, goes on to cause more pain and collateral damage, somewhere sensing that he/she is delivering it, somewhere not aware at all

Sometimes, you gotta take a call
You cannot be in that comfortable neutral zone anymore
You're not left with much choice
So you take that call
and it's good in a way
(yes, there are always pros and cons)
But it's liberating, to an extent
You're surprised by the outcome in a positive and negative manner
But you gotta tell yourself it'll be okay, if it has to be
There is only a limit to which you can deliver and prove yourself
If one still doesn't get your effort, or how you may have gone out of your way to do something, it's alright
At least you found out! And in the long run, that's what matters really. Clarity.

When you can't change something
How do you come to terms with it?
Just how do you be okay with it?
Every time you've tried, you've only hoped it hadn't turned out this way
You just can't seem to come to peace with it wholly, just yet
Even after years of somewhere being convinced, you know it deep inside, that you're not

Yes, life is unfair n all that
But it's only harder when you have to live with a situation that could've been dealt with differently
And you can only hope for that now and that's all there is to it
It involves too many lives and it's messed up

When you find a reason for your existence and presence at a particular place, time and situation:
While I was getting off the bus that stopped at a bus station, an old blind man who said something I didn't hear, was somewhere behind me. Holding his hand, and telling him, 'There's a step now', made the driver of the bus smile at me (and I was given a look by the same person, when I'd mentioned I'm short of twenty pence. I did pay extra eventually, yes)
Just the feeling of being able to hear my heart beat fast, while I walked the old man to a corner at the station, was incomparable. After a couple of seconds of no conversation and wonderment, I thought I'd ask him further where he exactly wants to go, as the station is pretty big, with stops named after alphabets.
As I asked him, 'Umm, where exactly are you heading, Sir?' He replied spontaneously, 'Eastern Green'
As lost as I usually am, with regard to figuring out stuff for myself, at stations, roads or anything involving maps (and leaving that part for my dear friends always), I told myself, 'You have to find out which bus would take one there, no matter what.' And so after a minute or so, we walked to that one particular bus stand which was slightly at a distance from the rest. As I left him there, and told him he could sit down, when he stood right in front of the bench, he had made my day already and further said, 'Thank you so much, dear. I really, really appreciate you dropping me till here. Thank you.' The smile on his face made me the happiest.

Hope.

And sometimes all you can say to yourself is, it'll be alright

The person who's become someone you don't seem to recognize
And, it will never be the same
That's when you don't know what is the truth anymore

When you know two different individuals in your life and it's not about comparison
But you begin to think about how one of them has done so much to get where he/she is today
And the other has probably not done one percent of it, but has more
Now what is the reasoning for this really?
I don't know about deserving or achieving or fulfilling your dreams
But sure as hell, it ain't fair from the layman's perspective
Having known two opposite people, and not just blatantly wondering about destiny for no apparent reason
Why does one who has so much with no effort and therefore, doesn't appreciate life enough, is the one who hasn't lived really yet.. but the other who had the least at his/her disposal, is one who has lived life to an extent already, and not merely existed...?

and happens today as well! - It sucks the way one is taught things, and asked to shut up about it.

Technology has made people so cowardly and disconnected."

The people who really want to be in your life will make the effort to stay
They're the ones worth keeping
Let go of the rest

And even though the Indian election results are out,
and pretty much everyone knew what was going to happen, by the end of it,

You never know

When it's unbelievable
The journey was different
The circumstances weren't remotely the same
The picture you could see getting made in front of you had a different outline, content, script, story
and when you realize that the main character is someone else, it changes the whole idea of it
The thought will never be the same when you think about this every time now
The main character changed the meaning of the title too
It amuses me how we reject what we have and want it when we don't
Why do we do that even when we know it's a mistake?
How are we willing to commit that mistake knowingly?
When you have a flow of emotions like a river
*sigh*

When you've always had words to express your state of mind
But this one time, you don't. You weirdly don't. You don't have a reason to validate the vacuum
You're happy for someone, someone you could've appreciated more in life

Still obsessed with the lines ~
"You're my backbone
You're my cornerstone
You're my crutch when my legs stop moving
You're my head start
You're my rugged heart
You're the pulse that I've always needed
Like a drum, baby, don't stop beating..."

How does one even manage to come up with such beautiful lyrics in the first place? How?

Aaah, when it hurts
It hurts to know you could have, what the other person does, today
But it's too late
and you can't do anything but be happy for this person
and that's exactly what you should
because who knows in life
No one does!
It's as unpredictable as the heartbeat of a person, like they say

The forbidden is what always seems the most appealing

I hate how people come and go in your life
Like, okay, they had their roles to play and all.. I get that
But how is it ever fair? Is anything ever is? (starting to doubt it)
Why do so much for the other person when you won't eventually be there in the long run?
No, it's not the better decision, because you're only going to make it harder for one to deal with all of the pieces
How hard is that to understand?

We need time to recover
from incidents and thoughts that have left an impact, or have caused too much collateral damage

When every thing isn't right
and you're stuck
You can't do much at the moment but it consumes you a little everyday

When you've been used to living away from home since eleven years, but miss it randomly one day
and you have no idea what initiated it

The ups and downs are normal, as they say.

Sometimes, you wanna cry and stay low
And that's all you wanna be

It hurts so much when you see the incapability in another person to be able to understand what you do

Life
and none of us come out of it alive

Seeing it all through someone else's eyes!

"Seeming and being are not one and the same."

"We're so arrogant, aren't we? So afraid of age, we do everything we can to prevent it. We don't realize what a privilege it is to grow old with someone. Someone who doesn't drive you to commit murder or doesn't humiliate you beyond repair."

"Not all of me wakes up at the same time."

"It take a lot of courage to show your dreams to someone else."

We're always defying age, but the feeling to know that you'd grow old together with someone you love
That's what one's looking for

When you're excited about your birthday, only to realize you'd be having a lifetime experience,
to not care about it really
When it just gets difficult for you to snap out of things,
not because you can't seem to get your mind off it, but because it's already left a deeper impact on you than you thought it would!

When all you could possibly wish for, is for the other person to understand. Not listen but understand.
Too much to ask for?

With people like Arvind Kejriwal, this world will be a better place :)

Because the opposite of love is apathy, not hate. When you're not completely indifferent as yet, and there's hate. An emotion that exists, it's amusing how you'd never thought you could manage to build that amount of hatred in your heart for someone, who's not even capable of empathy.

It's the power of words and will probably always be
What one said and how you perceived it

Absolutely love the words and the video! Extraordinary.
~ Using one's negativity towards you, to motivate you and keep going in life to make yourself better!

Exams - why are they used to define so much that never matters in the long run?

I love seeing old couples together! Adds to my day :)

Accounts - a subject that you've never liked, plus you've never been good at it, so you're all the more not motivated to make the effort!

How does one always manage to overlook the big picture?

Why get used to something for a short while when you know you can't have it for long?
