"Weekends don't count unless you spend them doing something completely pointless."
- Bill Watterson

- Paulo Coelho

"I know I stand in line
Until you think you have the time
To spend an evening with me
And if we go someplace to dance
I know that there's a chance
You won't be leaving with me

Then afterwards we drop into a quiet little place
And have a drink or two
And then I go and spoil it all
By saying something stupid
Like I love you"
- Something Stupid By C. Carson Parks [Sung by Frank Sinatra]

Little Bad Girl (Final) - David Guetta ft. Taio Cruz & Ludacris

Almost

The city is growing on me.
I'd never imagined my life here, to be full of such spontaneous plans and never thought it would leave me quite blank by the end of the day at the same time!

Different episodes of life.
New people. Common names capable of uprooting thoughts from the past.
Good times. Trance music. Different edited versions of the same track.
Surprises. New stuff you never expected. Short, short home visits.
School friends. Lifetime friends. Meeting people after years. When you didn't want time to pass but it flew like it always does.
And the work life that goes on for six days of a week and the one day you get off, never seems enough with work given even from 'work'! #Didn'tKnow #Hadn'tExpected #Wasn'tPrepared

The uncertainty.
One of those days when n number of questions cross your mind when the word 'career' has managed to take over your thoughts for the day!

Mary Kom. Respect.

The moment when you have to explain things to yourself to keep it together!
#ThingsIHateToDo

When the figures of rupees are incomprehensible in terms of scams taking place around you or the taxes that just one company pays... No clue about where 'that amount' of money goes.
#Politics

Dear face wash commercials, nobody actually splashes their faces with water like that.
Sincerely, my whole damn bathroom floor is wet.
Haha. #LovedThisOne

Long overdue but still not it

Life can be worse than you'd imagined it to be.
Or not :)
It all revolves around the time you take to get over things/your own thoughts. And ofcourse the time taken to let go of what crosses your mind more often than expected.

Sometimes you say the right things at the wrong time.
Does that even make any sense?

Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince.
Albus Dumbledore :)

We live in a place where honking is the mantra when you're driving a vehicle on the road.
Where education loan rates are actually higher than car loan rates.
Where pizza does end up reaching your doorstep faster than an ambulance!
Where the food rates are subsidized in the parliament to an extent that doesn't leave you in a position to compare it all with the price a common man pays, with the increasing variety in the types of taxes being levied!
But what's important, is to admit that 'we' are a part of all of this. Talking about it doesn't do anyone any good. But spreading the message, maybe close to nothing again. Acceptance is what's required. To be able to convert that acceptance into working on it in some form.

Delhi. The culture. The Shoshabaazi. It really is going to take some time for me to get used to it all and be willing to see the nice side of it. Seriously.

New Girl ~ The tv show. I like :)

Destiny.
Irrespective of whether you believe in it/fate or not.. If it were to be believed for a moment that it's fixed,
You do get to choose the way/journey to get to it but!

When the importance of weekends is truly understood by you.
Sleep deprivation.

A Beautiful Mind - The extraordinary movie :)
Based on a true story.

When the male to female ratio is less than 10:1 where you work... People can't stop going like O.o
And, let me mention, it really is disturbing!
#Seriously #MaybeTheDelhiEffectToo

The office life.
#EnoughSaid

So much in pieces still.
...

"Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light."
"People find it easier to forgive others for being wrong than being right."
- Albus Dumbledore

Words on shuffle mode

'Zindagi mein kuch kamao na kamao, kuch dost zaroor kama lena..'

When you miss a person who's sitting right next to you, not because the person's changed and you miss the old him/her.. But because this is another version of this person with additions that are new to you. Additions that haven't exactly changed him/her overall but have changed enough for you to want to drift apart yourself.
There is a difference. The new him/her or the renewed him/her.

When your day begins with the most unexpected replies from people! *sigh. And once again, the grass doesn't fail to seem greener on the other side!

When you move away by choice, not because you got tired of trying, or because the person's not worth the effort (not at all).. But because you know things are different and nothing can be done about it, really.

When your tears come out at the drop of a hat
The feeling of not wanting to exist
Just not wanting to exist
The only thing that keeps me going is the fact that I just need some answers in life. That's all. And once I've got those, I'll be in a much better position to know what I really want.

When you remember the time you were there for a friend who called you crying..
And one of those, who lets go of things faster than you can imagine, doesn't take things to heart all that fast, and is not like me at all. Her tears are a rarity.
You just feel right within yourself for existing when this person needed you.

When one drifts apart and you watch it happening

"No matter how many plans we make or steps we follow, we never know how our day is going to end up. We'd prefer to know, ofcourse, what curveballs will be thrown our way. It's the accidents that always turn out to be the most interesting parts of our day, the people we never expected to show up, a turn of events we never would have chosen for ourselves. All of a sudden you find yourself somewhere you never expected to be and it's nice, or it takes some getting used to. Still, maybe you'll find yourself appreciating it somewhere down the line. So you go to sleep each night thinking about tomorrow, going over your plans, preparing for them, and hoping that whatever accidents come your way will be happy ones."
~
Sometimes all you need is space.

I still don't get why people say things for the world .. (without meaning any of it)
Why?

You say things you don't mean all the time
And how one's mind never seems to realize how much difference that is capable of making to the people around you!

That awkward moment when you're at the Heineken Brewery at Amsterdam and 21 years old... But all you can do is look around! Haha. #TrueStory

When you're in a canal cruise and you're in the mood to click pictures but your camera battery dies
And then you have innumerable thoughts crossing your mind but you cannot pen them down because you just can't. And then there are people there talking about the business they do and all the normal chit chat that can happen anytime at any part of the world.. But they're loud and you're on a trip in another part of the world and you can hear only partial things about the history being said out loud (even though you're not the history person, yup).. But you'd wanna know how much ever is being told to you because of the relation one makes to things around as one sees it.
And that's precisely what you're there for! The importance of alignment between the purpose of where you are and why you're there.

Pictures and what you gathered in your head or in your phone's memo pad is all that stays with you at the end of a trip
But people don't mind playing cards on a boat when you're being told stuff about areas you're crossing
But no, that ain't gonna happen

When it's windy and you like the wind. But the air is cold
But you like it anyway
The one option you have with you that way is to pop your head out of the window right next to you (if you happen to be that lucky) to get away from all the crap-chat (or rather, the chat you couldn't care less about) and probably let the cold air make you even colder, to the people around you (pun intended).

Yup, that's another trip!

But the happiness even with the thought that you got waffles, pancakes 'and' french toast for breakfast every morning for a week! :D

I like to believe in certain things :)

"They take pictures of mountain climbers at the top of a mountain. They're smiling, ecstatic, triumphant. They don't take pictures along the way 'cos who wants to remember the rest of it. We push ourselves because we have to, not because we like it. The relentless climb, the pain and anguish of taking it to the next level. Nobody takes pictures of that. Nobody wants to remember. We just wanna remember the view from the top. The breathtaking moment at the edge of the world. That's what keeps us climbing. And it's worth the pain. That's the crazy part. It's worth anything."

Apt much?

When life just chooses differently for you.
It's like you never knew or imagined what it'd be like when the change takes place.
But then you were always with a certain group of people and the only one who left or for that matter, had to leave, was you. Yes, I do admit that it comes down to the choices one makes in life. But the underlying points are still the factors that led you to make that choice in the first place.

The thought of me leaving Mumbai after my graduation is one of the thoughts in the list that keeps coming and going. And, it is going to take a while for it to completely go, like the other thoughts that I've been working on, to get rid of.

I do not like the idea of keeping something borrowed.
Why do people assume that, just because most of the people on this planet keep borrowed things with themselves and use it as if it were theirs to own, that everyone would do that?

When you stay at a place that doesn't get you the homely feeling at all
How many ever times you've tried so far

I don't get it.
How does one not see what I see? How?
#SomeThingsAreBetterSaidButSomeReallyAren't!

Loud music

People apparently eat a lot when they're angry
I come here when I am.

"We're all susceptible to it, the dread and anxiety of not knowing what's coming. It's pointless in the end, because all the worrying and making of the plans for things that could or could not happen, it only makes things worse. So walk your dog or take a nap. Just whatever you do, stop worrying. Because the only cure for paranoia is to be here, just as you are."

I hate it when you can't/don't end up living up to your word.. Be it to a driver..
Not because you had something to do with it but then you won't shift the blame because you don't/shouldn't do that. Aah, do the right thing...

When you're at a place for no apparent reason at all !!!
Why?

When you can't wait
Because it's that HOT

Anything in excess can get annoying. And travelling is that anything for now.

Sometimes,
I just want to have that life back that I had in Mumbai. Badly.
My bed.
My cupboard with things and I know their 'location'!

Mayo Food. Sunday mornings, Thursday dinners, Tuesday silent lunches...
From 'Gullus' topping the list to "Ice cream for sweet dish (not dessert, sweet dish) tonight! :D Ha!"
..Horlicks-ed milk/water ~ fudge on the bread for b'fast! (borrowed horlicks. Haha), Maggi with pizza topping and CGS a.k.a. Chilli Garlic Spread, Midnight Fudge made by experts of the dorm with Kaccha Maggi and tang to toast for birthdays!
I don't know why we even cribbed.
Plus the tea times at 4 pm where a piece of water melon made you say, "Guys, you have to see what we're getting for tea today!!" :D

How much I miss Mayo!

Looking forward to a couple of things ahead now! All very, very soon.
#AlmostRightHere

"When we're dying or have suffered a catastrophic loss, we all move through five distinct stages of grief. We go into denial because the loss is so unthinkable we can't imagine it's true. We become angry with everyone, angry with survivors, angry with ourselves. Then we bargain. We beg. We plead. We offer everything we have, we offer our souls in exchange for just one more day. When the bargaining has failed and the anger is too hard to maintain, we fall into depression, despair, until finally we have to accept that we've done everything we can. We let go. We let go and move into acceptance."

A corner of my mind : part 6

"The person that invented the phrase 'happily ever after' should have his ass kicked so hard."

Everything happens for a reason but the reason is not always good.

Other people's lives aren't as complicated as we make it in our heads. Sometimes, it's all about hearing them out. When you could just be there to listen to that person say it all out loud. It doesn't have to have an outcome or a conclusion, and it does not necessarily have to be acted upon.

The world is a man's toilet.
As a friend of mine aptly puts it in those five words, I couldn't agree more.

Doodles

The feeling/thoughts when you're sitting alone in a car for a few minutes with that silence, playing your kind of depressing songs

When you let people slip away.. By choice.

Some thoughts that one should keep to oneself. Really.

Men and chauvinism
And how they judge ~ hilarious!

Sometimes, you want to do something because it's fascinating, and the other times it's backed by more convincing reasons, but the point is, you 'want' to do it.

It's not always what it looks like and it's not always what we believe
~ I might've mentioned that so many times earlier, but it's been true for so many things, more than sometimes.

"Doesn't matter how tough we are. Trauma always leaves a scar. It follows us home, it changes our lives, trauma messes everybody up, but maybe that's the point: All the pain and the fear and the crap. Maybe going through all of that is what keeps us moving forward, it's what pushes us. Maybe we have to get a little messed up, before we can step up."

Acceptance

It hurts.
Not with what was done but the fact that it wasn't shared before it was acted upon.
Not because it was done to make someone extraordinarily happy, but the part that wasn't told and looked from your angle/point of view by the one person who considered you closest in life or at least you were told so.
Not because it was more than what you have been given in the past but because higher wasn't even freaking considered for you. That's the part that hurts.
Priorities that change with people entering and leaving our lives.

"Change… We don't like it, we fear it. But we can't stop it from coming. We either adapt to change, or we get left behind. It hurts to grow. Anybody who tells you it doesn't, is lying."

Some things are just better unsaid. Really.

It surprises me when I look back and read what not I've said to one person at a point of time in life.
So much. As if he/she were my own personal diary. It's just that it hurts, only a little, yes, if I may say so, that not all the people make it to the list of people there, as a part of your life today.

"The thing about addiction is, it never ends well. Because eventually, whatever it was that was getting us high, stops feeling good, and starts to hurt. Still, they say you don't kick the habit until you hit rock bottom. But how do you know when you're there?
Because no matter how badly a thing is hurting us, sometimes, letting it go hurts even worse."

Yes, I'm back to watching Grey's Anatomy! :)
So much to catch up still though.

I really have to do something to conceal my emotions better for God's sake. When your goddamn face just shows everything that's going on inside or at least the big picture. I try so hard. It sucks you know.

"Deep down, everyone wants to believe they can be hardcore. But being hardcore isn't just about being tough. It's about acceptance. Sometimes you have to give yourself permission to not be hardcore for once. You don't have to be tough every minute of every day. It's okay to let down your guard. In fact, there are moments when it's the best thing you could possibly do, as long as you choose your moments wisely."

Sometimes, a person who's known you in and out and still does, behaves like a stranger, even though it's unintentional or at least you think it is. It's just not normal to me, even if it is something about your choice of food.

And, life has a lot ahead in store for you/me. We just need to keep at it and have faith sometimes. I know it's easier said than done but you're strong and you won't give up :)
~ Those are the lines I said to a friend the other day. But then again, "Life is what happens to you when you're busy making other plans." And my favourite question for just the above,
Really?

About the show, Satyamev Jayate, I couldn't agree more with just this ~
'Well if Satyamev Jayate is such a waste of time,  then you probably have a better idea. If that's the case, please go ahead and implement it.'

'Respect your elders. They made it through school without Google or Wikipedia.'
